About Me


Born on 14 July 1983, Bridgitte Ellen Hartley is a South African canoe sprinter. She won bronze in the K-1 1000m at the 2009 ICF World Championships and in the K-1 500m at the 2012 London Olympics. Hartley also earned bronze at the 2014 ICF World Championships. She competed in the K-2 500m at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and in the 2016 Rio Olympics, finishing 13th in the K-1 200m and 16th in the K-1 500m. In 2022, she became chair of the ICF Athlete Committee.
